‘Be good to people because you are good, not because they are good to you.’ ‘Do it with passion, or don’t do it at all.’
These are a couple of mantras I truly believe in. They have made me who I am today and will define who I become in the future.
One of my colleagues always used to say that humans are imperfect. We forget that we are all human and we all make mistakes. I used to be quite scared of failures, but this gave me the courage to accept them, learn from them and try new things.
I come from a very loving and supportive family of four- my parents and my elder brother. Since I was a boy, I have always been very curious about every tiny thing. Why do I say that? It is all because of the question “Why?”. I was obsessed with “why?”. My parents have always supported my curiosity but even they used to get a bit annoyed by it. I asked “Why?”; for everything they told me to do, even my chores! Needless to say, I was heavily reprimanded for such antics! Jokes aside, this was and still is my favorite question to ask. I think looking for its answer is what helps one move toward gaining an understanding of life. During middle school and high school, I discovered that science did answer a lot of the “Why questions?” which I had since childhood and which sometimes my parents couldn’t answer satisfactorily. Then and there, I dived in.
I also love arts and crafts, especially designing and building complex structures. I am convinced that my contribution to the world should be born from my creativity and innovation.
I had decided on my personal mission statement/vision/goal or whatever you’d like to call it, five years ago. I have it framed and always keep it on my work desk.
I read it whenever I feel lost, whenever I feel low. It invigorates me and keeps me focused!
As a person, I am a social butterfly! I love making meaningful connections and thoroughly relish a well-formed conversation!
